데뷔앨범 What My Heart Wants To Say중에서 Unchained Melody / Gareth Gates
      하이 자레트(H. Zaret) 작사, 알렉스 노스(A. North) 작곡의 이 곡은 엘로이 하슈·바바라 헤일이 주연한 1955년도 워너 브라더스 영화 『Unchained Melody』의 주제가로, 원래 듀크 엘링턴 악단의 가수였던 흑인 장님 가수 알 히블러의 레코드와, 레사 백스터 악단의 레코드로 같은 해에 대 히트하여 둘 다 밀리언셀러가 되었고, 1965년에는 라이처스 브라더스의 레코드로 재 히트하였다.   그 후 영화 패트릭 스웨이즈와 데미 무어가 주연한 『사랑과 영혼』의 메인 타이틀 곡으로 삽입, 엄청난 히트를 기록했다.
알 히블러, 라이처스 브라더즈, 노먼 루버프 합창단 일 디보 등의 음반으로도 잘 알려져 있다.
